Next
Saturday, October 5th, is the open house and reception for our current print
show Intervention. We're open our regular hours
from 12 to 5, with fun activities all day long.
Come
by and fold paper cranes with Coach Adam at 2pm, and watch Matt Bodett's
drypoint intaglio demonstration at 4.
The
artist's reception is 5pm to 8pm, where you can rub elbows with artists from
the show and enjoy refreshments while taking in the fabulous prints on display.
If
you can't join us on October 5th, please stop by during our normal shop hours.
The exhibition runs September 21- November 2, 2013.
Exhibition
description:
Playing
with the notion that an intervention is to come, appear, or lie between two
things, this exhibition showcases eight artists whose work either formally or
conceptually involves the idea of intervention in some manner. This is
distinguished either in the processes in which they approach their art, in the
meaning or imagery from which their work is derived, or both.
Curated
by Megan Sterling, Intervention features wonderful artists
Christopher Blume, Matt Bodett, Jeremy Cody, Jeanine Coupe-Ryding, Michelle
McCoy, Duffy O’Connor, Megan Sterling and Kasia Stachowiak.
P.S.
Mark
your calendars to visit us at Show of Hands, a new craft show for the indie pro,
presented by Orange Beautiful. It's Saturday Nov. 23rd and Sunday Nov. 24th,
10am-5pm, located in the Ravenswood Event Center Showroom. It's going to be
great!
